Something is becoming.

Arcadia began long before it had a name.

As a child, I made jewelry by hand — to give away, and sometimes to sell. Jewelry has always been more than an accessory to me. I collected silver and natural gemstone pieces from small vintage and second-hand shops, drawn to their stories, textures and craftsmanship.

Later, while working as a teacher in eastern Turkey, I discovered another side of jewelry. I met local artisans and became fascinated by the meeting of natural stones, silver and ancient visual languages. The Persian and Urartian influences I encountered, the use of savat, and the delicate art of telkari in places such as Mardin showed me how jewelry can carry a story.

I often found myself thinking: What if I could make these pieces myself?

Years later, after moving to Hamburg, that thought slowly became a path.

What began with buying and selling natural stone jewelry eventually turned into making my own. I started taking pieces apart and rebuilding them into something new. Then I began choosing my own materials, creating at home, selling at handmade markets and teaching workshops.

The more I made, the more I wanted to understand the craft itself.

So I returned to Istanbul and trained in traditional jewelry making and metalwork. Learning how to create the metal elements myself changed everything. With every new technique, another part of the picture became possible.

The smaller the business became, the more freedom I found.
The more I learned, the more completely I could create.

Natural gemstones remained at the heart of it all — for their colours, textures, individuality and their connection to nature.

Along the way, I travelled and collected jewelry wherever I went. But Crete stayed with me. I visited three times and was especially inspired by the small shop where women designed and made their pieces in the back of their own stores, then placed them directly in front for someone to discover.

Each piece was different. Each carried the hand of its maker.

I imagined myself there.

Perhaps I had been imagining that place for years.

Arcadia is the result of that becoming.

Designed in Hamburg, shaped by many places, traditions and encounters, Arcadia creates handcrafted jewelry from natural gemstones, silver and carefully chosen materials.

Not perfectly uniform. Not made to follow a trend.

Made slowly, intentionally, and with room for the material — and the person wearing it — to become something of its own.

Transformation

The first Arcadia collection is called Becoming.

Because transformation is not a single moment. It is a process — a collection of experiences, places, choices and versions of ourselves that slowly shape who we become.

And perhaps that is what jewelry has always meant to me:

a small object carrying a much larger story.
